I will be going off to college next year and I know that my family won’t be able to buy be the things that I need(things for the dorm, a laptop, etc.) And if you know of any can you tell me how/when to apply for the,? Thanks.

Not directly to you but to the school you are attending then on to you. Stafford subsidized and un subsidized go to the school they take out what you owe and then send the rest on to you. If you are not on your own then your parents might have to fill in some of it. You must go to the fasfa web site and fill out application. this should of been done months ago but you still can apply but will take some time to get money.

    myrichuncle.com is a private lender. They send the money DIRECTLY TO YOU!! It’s really nice! I got my loan from them!

  2. Some banks have what they call “gap loans” for expenses beyond tuition, books, dorm, etc. We almost had to apply for one when my son’s federal loans weren’t going to meet our bill. US Bank has gap loans. I’m not sure if you have any of those in your area. You may ask your college’s financial aid dept. or call your own bank and ask.
